Lesley McBain

Lesley McBain has been AASCU’s Senior Research and Policy Analyst since July 2007. Her responsibilities include providing a wide variety of research support to AASCU divisions and researching and writing Policy Matters and Perspectives pieces for DGRPA. In addition, she serves as AASCU’s representative to the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative and its Technical Review Panels, provides general support to the Higher Education Government Relations Conference, and engages in other research- and policy-related activities.

Prior to joining AASCU, Lesley was a senior data editor for The College Board’s Annual Survey of Colleges in its Reston, VA office; there, she worked on surveys for all colleges in New York State and all private colleges in California participating in the Annual Survey in addition to special projects. Her previous higher education experience was as an assistant director of financial aid at The New School in New York City. In addition, she has worked in the publishing industry and as a consultant for the City of New York. She has a B.A. in English literature from Temple University and a M.S. degree in higher education from Drexel University.
