Current Actions http:https://www.congressweb.com/cmaa Wed, 30 Apr 2025 08:34:34 GMT Support 2025 National Golf Day and the PAR Act http:https://www.congressweb.com/cmaa/29 <div>Thursday, May 1, is National Golf Day. Representatives from our $102B industry, which sustains 1.65M US jobs, will visit Capitol Hill to share our industry’s economic, health, and environmental contributions. Our industry delivers value in ways beyond jobs, revenue, taxes, and multiplier effects. Our industry is a community asset, and a positive contributor to physical, mental, and social wellness. Further, it provides valuable green space, as trees and turfgrass at courses can improve air quality by producing oxygen and trapping pollutants, thus preventing them from reaching groundwater supplies.</div> <div><br /> Our top priority for National Golf Day is to advocate for legislation to modernize the US tax code, HR1583, the Parity for Athletic Recreation (PAR) Act, sponsored by Congressmen Richard Hudson (R-NC) and Jimmy Panetta (D-CA). This legislation corrects exclusionary language (§ 144(c)(6)(B) of the Internal Revenue Code) that disqualifies any “any private or commercial golf course, country club” from access to various forms of disaster relief&nbsp;and economic stimulus programs that are available to other hospitality businesses.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Please join the effort and help us reach every member of Congress!&nbsp;</div> Wed, 23 Apr 2025 04:00:00 GMT http:https://www.congressweb.com/cmaa/29
