City School students struggle to get to school on time because MTA does not have enough vehicles to provide enough high frequency bus service. Baltimore bus riders deal with canceled service every day. MTA has a solution to this problem. It’s called the BMORE BUS plan. BMORE BUS would deliver more frequent service for riders. Did you provide public input for the BMORE BUS plan in spring 2024? The BMORE BUS plan was supposed to be released in fall 2024, but the release date keeps slipping despite summer 2025 being right around the corner. In order for BMORE BUS to be successful, and for MTA to increase bus frequency, the Moore Administration needs to release the BMORE BUS plan now and fund a fifth bus division to house and maintain more MTA buses. Building a fifth bus division is essential for MTA to expand bus service to improve reliability for everyone and is a prerequisite for building the Red Line light rail project.

Ask Governor Moore to release the BMORE BUS plan and fund the building of a fifth bus division for MTA so that they can implement the plan and improve service for all transit riders.

Support the Transportation & Climate Alignment Act

The Transportation and Climate Alignment Act of 2025 (HB 84/SB 395) is a priority bill for the Transportation Alliance in the 2025 legislative session. Transportation is the largest source of climate pollution in Maryland. It is also the second largest expense for most Americans after housing. The bill would encourage state investment in public transit, walking, and biking infrastructure to reduce tailpipe pollution and give Marylanders more safe and affordable options to get to work, school, healthcare, and other locations.

From Salisbury, to Baltimore, to Frederick, all Marylanders deserve to get around safely, reliably, and affordably. Wherever we live across the state, we want our communities to be inclusive and vibrant. Our transportation system plays a key role in making that happen.

But the Maryland Department of Transportation – influenced by the asphalt and road-building industry -- continues to pour OUR tax dollars into expanding roads and widening highways. This type of wasteful spending has been proven to actually increase traffic and have negative impacts on air pollution, water quality, and public health.

Imagine if these resources were instead spent on accessible sidewalks, crosswalks, bike paths, and investing in high-quality public transit that helps increase access and safety for all Marylanders.

Tell Governor Moore that if he truly wants to leave no one behind it’s time for Maryland to fund transit, biking, and walking projects, that get us all where we need to go.

We Need to Raise our Grade

Transportation in the Baltimore Region earns a 'D+' in our latest report card. Operator shortages and disrepair hurts transit reliability. Households struggle with high transportation costs and too many neighborhoods lack access to opportunities. Tell your elected officials that a 'D+' is unacceptable and we need better transportation projects and policies that will grow the economy, give people choices and keep our environment healthy.
