Codify 988 and BH Link in 2026!

Right now, every Rhode Islander has access to help in a crisis by calling 988, the state’s suicide and crisis lifeline. 988 is an unfunded federal mandate and while our state boasts one of the best in-state answer rates in the country, this life-saving service is at risk due to inadequate state funding.

The proposed 988 long-term funding bills would codify 988 and BHLink to ensure 988 is fully funded. S3058 and H8177 are about securing our full behavioral health infrustructure.
