Make Your Voice Heard: Tourism Drives our Economy
Tourism is a cornerstone of Collier County’s economy, generating an approximately $3.9 billion annual economic impact, supporting more than 28,000 local jobs and producing nearly $50 million in tourist development tax revenue each year. Visitor spending supports restaurants, retailers, attractions, arts and culture, transportation providers and countless small businesses throughout our community.
On June 30, the Collier Board of County Commissions will hold a public workshop to discuss a proposed transition to an independent nonprofit destination marketing organization to serve Naples, Marco Island and the Everglades.
The proposed structure will strengthen destination marketing, enhance collaboration with industry stakeholders and provide greater flexibility to respond to changing market conditions, while maintaining county oversight, transparency and public control of the tourist development tax revenues.
A strong and competitive visitor economy benefits businesses of all sizes, supporting jobs, investment and long-term economic prosperity throughout Collier County.
The Greater Naples Chamber supports the proposed transition to an independent nonprofit DMO and encourages business leaders, tourism stakeholders and community members to participate in the discussion.
