Current Actions http:https://www.congressweb.com/organiceye Thu, 12 Jun 2025 18:32:46 GMT Your Right to Know: Is the Organic Product You Purchased Online Fraudulent? http:https://www.congressweb.com/organiceye/7 <div> <div><strong>Ask the USDA National Organic Program&nbsp;to make visible to online shoppers the same label information currently required on all certified organic packaging — including the name of the accredited certifier.</strong><br /> &nbsp;</div> <ul> <li>Among U.S. internet users, approximately 58.6 percent have purchased groceries online.</li> <li>At present, there is no requirement to make the identity of the organic certifier (usually found on the back of a package) available to online shoppers; it is currently required to be visible to shoppers on all retail and wholesale packaging.</li> </ul> <div><br /> Online retailers/resellers are not consistent about displaying all sides of packaging on web pages, and even when they do, it is often not large enough to be readable.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>How can you validate the authenticity of the organic product you are purchasing?
